The Captain

Capt. Nick has years of fishing experience fishing from Beach Haven, New Jersey to Isla Mujeres, Mexico. He enjoys participating in some of the biggest tournaments on the East Coast. At age 14 Nick became a Jr Mate in the Beach Haven Charter Fishing Association’s Jr Mate Program and eventually worked his way up and at age 18 completed his captain’s license course. Since then he has worked as a mate and as a captain on several boats including running charters on the family vessel, the AQVILA. Through traveling around and fishing on numerous other boats, Nick has learned many different methods to target fish and likes to fish for species other charter boats don’t while using new tactics. Nick’s two favorite types of fishing are white marlin fishing and daytime swordfishing.

The Mates

Cheyne Lenhard

Assigned to Capt. Nick when he was a Jr Mate, Cheyne has shown over the past three years he has what it takes to be a mate on board the AQVILA. Energetic and enthusiastic, Cheyne is eager to help make your fishing trip enjoyable. When he is not fishing and working on boats, he is a Jr sailing instructor at Little Egg Harbor Yacht Club.

Justin Schiraldi

Justin is another mate who went through the BHCFA Jr Mate program. Another fast learner, Justin caught his first white marlin on a fun trip aboard the AQVILA and soon learned the ways of offshore fishing ever since.
